Elderly Outreach is a program designed to enrich the lives of the older and wiser members of our community. Junior Service League participants on this committee have a desire to become involved with and make a positive impact on those who we value greatly…our elders.  The League has hosted monthly visits to the area facilities for several years. We will serve the Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion for the third year in 2010 and new for 2010 an expansion of the program will be held at the St. Andrews Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehab facility. JSL members interact with the residents, especially those who have little to no contact with family or friends outside of the centers. 

League activities include ice cream socials, Valentine's sweetheart parties, hosting local dancing and singing groups, and helping with special annual events. Through this program we have a rewarding opportunity to provide a variety of activities and crafts for our friends living in area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
More importantly, we offer companionship and strive to truly enhance the daily lives of others living with illness and limitations.

One very popular event is the annual St. Patrick's Day Party for which volunteers bring in Irish themed food and drinks from local restaurants. Then the residents play a round of St. Patty's Day Bingo.....with the ultimate prize being Golden Dollar Coins. League members also provide robes, slippers, hygiene items and other necessities on request to elderly centers around Bay County.
